Poked Wool Iphone
Artist Patience Tomlinson works with poked wool to create everything from little animals to electronics. She starts with a ball of wool and pokes it with a needle to create her sculptures. I love them. Here is one of my favorites-a WOOL IPHONE!

How to Blow Up Two Heads at Once, 2006.
Who Knew exploring European Colonialism could be so bad-ass? I think I’m in love.
British born Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare MBE deals with cultural identity and class issues through video, photography, and sculptural installations. His life-sized headless mannequins are often clothed in colorful and intricately patterned dutch wax print fabrics.

Get to the Brooklyn Museum before September 20th to view his mid-career survey exhibition, and to the Newark Museum in New Jersey for a full scale dinner party installation called, “Party Time: Re-imagine America” (through January 3rd, 2010). I can’t wait to see this installation- it promises gluttony, vulgarity and a peacock.
